They can be a series of small goals or just one large goal that will help guide you to your desired outcome. They idea is to create a framework layered with accomplishments and “wins.” Small wins and a list of accomplishments builds confidence in you as a professional. This confidence will help how you view new challenges with an excitement and motivation to do more. Completing a goal regardless of size will help you maintain a “business high” and provide clarity when there is doubt. You will eventually look forward to challenges, because you can reflect on your accomplishments for future direction and courage.
I always recommend setting goals so high that they excite you! Creating goals that excite you will propel you to continuously challenge yourself above and beyond what you thought you were capable of accomplishing. Excitement creates fresh and new ideas that will create a list of other fresh and new ideas (rinse and repeat). In the end, the ideas that you were once terrified of accomplishing now drive you to your next goal and challenge.
